01 Overview

Neon Blocks ("the app") is a single-player arcade game. This policy explains what information the app handles, how, and why. The short version: the developer runs no server and receives no data from the app. Your progress is stored on your own device. Two Google services process some data directly, not the developer: (1) the app shows ads through Google AdMob (section 03), and (2) if you choose to use Google Play Games leaderboards (section 04), your total score and highest level are sent to Google Play Games.

02 Information stored on your device

The app saves the following locally, using Android's standard app-storage mechanism, so your progress survives closing and reopening the app:

  • High score and the current level reached
  • Neon Kredi (in-game currency) balance, and which cosmetic ball/paddle skins you've unlocked or equipped
  • Your chosen language (Turkish/English) and sound on/off setting

Apart from the two leaderboard figures described in section 04 (your total accumulated score and the highest level you have reached, which are derived from this progress), none of this leaves your device. The game itself has no account, username, or profile of its own. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on your device by the app; it does not delete anything already held by Google Play Games (see section 04).

03 Advertising (Google AdMob)

Neon Blocks is free and contains ads. Ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Two kinds of ads are shown: rewarded ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game reward, and interstitial (full-screen) ads, which may appear between levels after you have passed level 5.

To show and measure ads, prevent fraud, and keep the service running, the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's advertising partners may collect and use the following from your device:

  • Advertising ID (Google advertising identifier) and, where applicable, other device or app identifiers
  • Approximate location, derived from your IP address (the app does not request precise location and has no location permission)
  • Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, language, screen size, network/carrier information, and the app's name and version
  • Ad interactions and diagnostics, such as which ads were requested, shown, or clicked, whether a rewarded ad was completed, and performance or crash data related to the ad SDK

This data is collected and processed by Google and its advertising partners, not by the developer. It may be used to show ads that are relevant to you (personalized ads) or, if you opt out or have not consented, non-personalized ads. Google may share this data with its advertising partners; see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's privacy policy.

Consent (EU, EEA and UK). If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app shows a consent form provided by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) the first time you use it. Ads that use your data for personalization or measurement are only requested according to the choices you make there, and you can change your choice later where the app or Google offers that option. Elsewhere, ads may be shown according to Google's standard settings, which you can control as described below.

Your controls. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your Android device settings (typically Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads; menu names vary by device and Android version). You can also manage the ads Google shows you at adssettings.google.com. Opting out does not remove ads; it limits their personalization. You can play without ever watching a rewarded ad. If you use Android's option to delete your advertising ID, apps such as this one receive a blank identifier instead.

04 Google Play Games leaderboards (optional)

This version adds leaderboards through Google Play Games Services, a service provided by Google. Using it is optional: the game is fully playable without signing in, and if you are not signed in, nothing is sent.

When the app starts, and when you open the leaderboard screen, it asks Google Play Games to sign you in. Google shows its own sign-in and consent screens; if your device is already set up for Play Games, Google may sign you in automatically. If you decline or are signed out, the game works as before.

When you are signed in, the app sends the following to Google Play Games Services:

  • your total accumulated score across all runs, and the highest level you have reached — sent when a run ends, and once after you first sign in so that progress made earlier is included
  • your Play Games player identity, which is handled by Google's own sign-in (the app does not receive your Google password or email address)

If a run ends while you are signed out, the app keeps the best unsent values on your device and sends them the next time you sign in.

The leaderboard screen shows other players' Play Games display names and scores (as a public list, or a list of your friends), and your own entry. Your display name and scores are visible to other players according to your Play Games profile settings, and they are provided by Google. The app does not read your contacts or friends list itself; friend lists come from Google Play Games.

The developer does not operate any server, does not receive or store your leaderboard data, and cannot see it apart from what any player sees on the public leaderboard. Everything sent goes to and through Google Play Games Services, and how Google handles it is governed by Google's privacy policy and the Google Play Games Services terms. Google may also collect diagnostic and device information as part of running that service.

You control this through Google, not through the app: in the Google Play Games app's settings you can manage your profile and who can see it (for example, keeping it private so you do not appear in public leaderboards), sign out of games, and delete your Play Games data. Menu names may change over time. Uninstalling this app does not remove scores already held by Google Play Games.

05 Permissions

The app requests network access (Internet / network state). It is used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK to load and show ads (section 03) and by Google Play Games Services for the optional leaderboards (section 04; the connection is made by Google's Play services on your behalf). The app also declares the Google advertising ID permission (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID) so that the ad SDK can read your advertising ID on Android 13 and later. Apart from that, the app doesn't send anything over the network. The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or files.

06 Data sharing

The developer does not operate any server and does not collect, sell, or receive your personal information. Data leaves your device only in two ways: (1) ad-related data described in section 03, which goes to Google AdMob and, through Google, its advertising partners; and (2) what you choose to send by signing in to Google Play Games Services (section 04), which goes to Google, where other players can see your Play Games display name and scores on the leaderboards, subject to your Play Games profile settings. Progress data described in section 02 (credits, skins, settings) is not sent anywhere.

07 Children's privacy

Neon Blocks is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, and does not knowingly ask Google to show personalized ads to children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have a concern, contact us (section 10). Google Play Games has its own age requirements for accounts and profiles, which apply if you choose to sign in.

08 Your choices

You can change the app's language or mute sound at any time from in-game settings. You can play without ever watching a rewarded ad, reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in Android settings, and (in the EEA/UK) manage your consent choices (section 03). You can play without ever signing in to Google Play Games, and you can control your leaderboard visibility, sign out, or delete your Play Games data through the Google Play Games app settings (section 04). Uninstalling the app removes the data described in section 02 from your device.

09 Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example if the ad setup or leaderboard features change — the updated version will be published at this same page, with a new effective date above.
